The story follows Éanna ní Suibhne, a girl who was suddenly thrown into a world she barely knew of and a plot to kill a God; by the coincidence of someone she treasures meeting someone who was once in that world.

She had generally stayed out of the grasps of pop culture, only hearing of popular things in passing. When someone dear to her, Audrey Laverty, had met the woman who single-handedly threw what was known as adventurers into the spotlight, she was enamoured, and decided to dive into that world, taking Éanna with her.
